Fuchsia Bridal Shower ::

I'm helping plan a bridal shower for one of my sister's best friends and I created this inspiration board to work off of. Think: fuchsia, stripes, mercury glass, un-iced layered cake (vanilla pound cake, layered with lemon curd), champagne with raspberries, yellow accents, and bright pink blooms. I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Rustic Barn Inspiration ::

I'm a big fan of an outdoor, barn setting for a wedding reception. It's a bit more casual than a ballroom, which I think will help guests relax and have a good time. And, just because it's a barn does not mean it can't be incredibly chic and elegant... it'll just typically have a more rustic feel. There are so many different design opportunities because most barns are a blank slate. These photos are some of my favorite barn inspirations...

Craft Day ::

I'm helping plan (and throw) a bridal shower for my sister's friend, and spent today making invitations. I finalized the layout, took it to get printed, and lined and addressed envelopes. While lining envelopes might not be the quickest task, I think it adds such a cute touch... makes the work well worth it. I can't wait to share the (entire) final product!

Blooming Champagne Cocktail with Wild Hibiscus

I had this champagne cocktail at a wedding a couple months ago and it was not only delicious, but one of the prettiest cocktails I've seen. It is so easy to make - buy hibiscus flowers in syrup, and add champagne!

Herb Planter ::

This herb planter is a backyard/patio must have. It's so nice to always have herbs on hand when cooking. This one shown is from Home Depot (only $20!), but making one could be a very fun and simple DIY project.

Patio Seating ::

I love these iron chairs with thick, fluffy cushions. What great seating for a patio - I could sit here all day with a good book, magazines, or some friends and a bottle of wine...

Olive Leaves ::

I love olive leaves for a rustic event because, while it adds a rustic feel, it is still very classic. It makes me think of an Italian affair... textured linens, lavender, olive oils, wooden tables and chairs... the list goes on.

DIY :: Easter Gift

I made this as a little gift for my boyfriend's family for Easter. It's so simple to make yourself... and who wouldn't want a jar full of homemade granola? Find any jar (I bought mine at the Container Store) and fill it with your favorite granola recipe. This one from Ina Garten is delicious. You can make a tag or buy one (I recommend making one - much more personal that way), and then tie it up with a pretty ribbon!
